|
Dear publishers & subscribers,
In this issue of Zinester's News I am excited to announce our
new posting script combined with a very first version of our new web
interface, that will soon become a convenient online mailing list
management system.
Also, as usual, we are offering 8 ezine selections in our
Editor's Choice section.
Editor,
Andrew Okunev

Do You See That Logo?
We hope you are subscribed to the HTML version and you can see
it. Do you want to know how we did that? Its easy. Its that new
posting script that we have developed recently... The script is
integrated into what will soon become a full-time mailing list
management system. We believe it is one of the greatest features that
we have implemented so far - hope you like it!
Anyway, let us get down to facts. The new posting script
features:
- Images. The new script allows you to attach images and
view them directly in the HTML message! Images can be used for logos,
formatting elements, pictures, etc. Other file types can be attached
also.
- All data is stored on the server. When once uploaded
your HTML, Plain Text or files, they are stored on our site, which
makes the script fast and saves your traffic.
- Time zones. You can select a time zone for deferred
issues. Your time zone preference will be remembered by the system (no
need to re-select the next time you post) for each ezine separately.
- Fixes HTML-entities. A problem has been reported by
some of our publishers with symbols like ½ and ¼ - they
were not converted into ISO-8859-1 symbols correctly in Plain Text
messages. Now these symbols will be processed correctly by the new
script if you check the "Fix Special Characters In Plain Text"
checkbox.
- Reports broken links in HTML messages. Automatically
replaces a broken link with a link to an attached file if file names
are identical.
- Warns if issue is deferred into past.
- Shows size of message and warns if exceeded the
standard threshold. Allows you to remove files or edit content to make
issue smaller.
- Allows to send a test post. A test post will be
received by the publisher only. If successful, the issue can be posted
to subscribers with only one click. If not, you can go back to the
edit page.
New log in interface features:
- The new posting script is integrated into our new log
in interface. There is no need to enter your email and password each
time - you log in once, and perform operations with all your ezines.
Only the posting feature is available currently, but more will be
added soon.
- All security issues are taken care of in the log in
interface. Re-authorization will be requested after 1 hour of no
activity (all submitted data will be restored). Session will be
terminated completely after 6 hours of no activity.
- The "Main Menu" page shows a list of your ezines. By
clicking on each ezine you will be taken to the posting page. Some
stats are displayed regarding the previous issues of each ezine: date
& time, the time it took to post each issue, number of messages sent
and number of subscribers gained/lost compared with the previous post.
Whew... Looks like this is it. If you notice any bugs or
malfunctions, please let us know. We'll be continually developing the
new interface in the nearest future - in order to make Zinester the
best mailing list management system available. If you have any
suggestions, they are more than welcome! Contact us regarding any related
issues.
We are currently starting the development of our Archives
system. Hopefully, we'll have it running in a month or two.
